ATLANTA, GA (May 2009) – In spite times of economic uncertainty, Atlanta-based Lipsey Mountain Water continues to support and give back to the Atlanta community. In 2008, the company donated close to a million bottles of its natural mountain spring water throughout the USA, and in 2009 is committed to increasing its current level of donations. In the first few months of 2009, the company has already donated thousands of bottles to community events in the metro Atlanta area to include the 7th Annual Step Forward to Cure Tuberous Sclerosis 5K in Marietta Square and the Galloway School’s Annual 5K at Chastain Park.
“There is no doubt that times are tough right now, but Lipsey has actively supported our Atlanta community for more than 20 years and we don’t plan to stop — for any reason,” said Joe Lipsey III, president of Lipsey Mountain Spring Water. “The need for help and donations is now greater than ever before and we want to do everything in our power to support the community that has given us so much in the last two decades.”
Founded more than 20 years ago by Buddy Lipsey, Lipsey Mountain Spring Water has a long-standing history of corporate philanthropy and charitable giving in the Atlanta area and abroad. President Joe Lipsey, III has been on the board of the Center of Disease Control (CDC) for 10 years and actively supports efforts to provide quality drinking water to nations in Africa to help with disease prevention. In addition, the company founded and funds the Anna B. Lipsey foundation for cancer prevention and annually presents the Joe Lipsey Sr. Award to two students at Louisiana State University for excellence in environmental studies.
