Winter in Atlanta can be a little unpredictable. One day it’s a balmy 67 degrees and the next it’s suddenly a crisp 35 degrees. It’s definitely the kind of weather that keeps you on your toes. You really have to be prepared for anything.

Part of that preparation absolutely must include a comforting mug of delicious hot cocoa. The perfect thing to get you through the next surprise winter storm. To make it even easier, we’ve gathered a few delectable and soothing hot cocoa recipes to get you through the season.

BE PREPARED WITH THESE SCRUMPTIOUSLY SIMPLE RECIPES

THREE INGREDIENT HOT COCOA

Yields one serving

  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1 tbsp powdered sugar
  • ¼ cup powdered creamer

Mix together all of the ingredients and add hot water. So simple!

EASY VEGAN HOT COCOA

Yields eight servings

  • ½ cup cocoa powder (can be substituted with carob for a healthier kick)
  • 6 tbsp powdered coconut milk
  • ? cup maple sugar
  • ¼ tsp sea salt
  • ¼ tsp vanilla bean powder

Sift the cocoa powder and the powdered coconut milk together. Then add the maple sugar, sea salt and vanilla bean powder, whisking to combine. Store any unused mix in an airtight container. When ready to use, simply add 2 – 3 tbsp of the mix to hot water.

PROTEIN PACKED HOT COCOA

Yields 6 servings

  • 1 cup whey protein powder (can be substituted with soy protein powder for the lactose intolerant)
  • ½ cup coconut sugar
  • ¼ cup cocoa powder
  • ¼ tsp sea salt

Combine all of the ingredients and whisk together. Store unused mix in an airtight container. When ready to use, mix 2 -3 tbsp with hot water.

SKINNY PEANUT BUTTER CUP HOT COCOA

Yields 12 servings

  • ½ cup unsweetened dark cocoa powder
  • ½ cup nonfat powdered creamer
  • 1 ½ tsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ¾ cup baking stevia (can substitute sugar)
  • 1 cup peanut flour

Combine all ingredients and mix well. Store unused mix and an airtight container. When ready to use, add 1 – 2 tbsp to hot water.

EXTRA CREAMY DECADENT HOT COCOA

Yields 22 servings

  • 1 cup cocoa
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • ¾ cup powdered vanilla creamer
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips (ground fine in a food processor)
  • 1 small package of butterscotch pudding
  • 1 large package of chocolate pudding

Combine all ingredients and mix thoroughly. Store unused mix in an airtight container. When ready to use, add ? cup of the mix to 1 cup of hot water.
